Dejan Govedarica (October 2, 1969) is a former midfielder of FC Volendam, NEC Nijmegen and RKC Waalwijk, among others. The left leg was known as an excellent inspector.
Govedarica started his professional career with the beautifully named FK Proleter Zrenjanin in what was then Yugoslavia. He left the club after three seasons for top club FK Vodjovina Novi Sad. With this team he became national champion in the 1994/95 season. Then 'Goofy' went to the Netherlands, where he ended up in Volendam.
The fishing village enjoyed the player for a year and a half, because in mid-1997 the Italian Lecce attracted the 29-time international of Yugoslavia.
After six months of playing football on the Adriatic coast, RKC Waalwijk brought Govedarica back to the Netherlands. In 2002, the now 33-year-old midfielder switched to NEC. In his debut season as NEC'er, Govedarica was immediately a very important link in the achievement of European football.
Two years later he left the Netherlands to finish in Serbia at FK Vodjovina Novi Sad, where he already played. In 2005 Dejan Govedarica hung up his football boots.
